England and UK Government Guidelines

Hi Parents, Guardians and Players
The guidance is changing daily, please let us know if your child has a positive LFT, no need to wait for a positive PCR. If your child has been in close contact in netball activity NHS and CFX will inform all parties.

Here is the guidance from EN albeit 21 days ago, it is the latest we have:

What happens if a player tests positive for COVID-19?

21 days ago Updated on EN website.
If a person tests positive, they must not attend any netball activity and they must self-isolate at home for 10 days in line with Government guidance and follow the instruction of NHS Test & Trace.

If an individual tests positive within 48 hours of attending netball activity where standard netball rules were used, it is highly likely that NHS contact tracers will identify all other players on the court, coaches and officials as close contacts irrespective of what COVID-19 variant was identified. If identified as a close contact and fully vaccinated you will need to take a daily lateral flow test for 7 days or if unvaccinated you will need to isolate for 10 days.

What is the definition of a close contact in a netball context?

21 days ago Updated
A close contact is defined as anyone who has been sharing a netball court for a match, training session or programme session including players, officials and non-mask wearing coaches.

If an individual has been involved in multiple games or on multiple court areas, for example at a festival or tournament; all those who have been in contact will be identified as a close contact.

What happens if you are identified as a close contact of someone who has tested positive for the omicron variant?

23 days ago Updated
If you are identified as a close contact of someone who may have been infected with Covid-19 whether Omicron or not and you are fully vaccinated you should take a Lateral Flow Test every day for 7 days to help slow the spread of COVID-19. If you test positive or develop symptoms will need to self-isolate.

Unvaccinated adults are not eligible for this new daily testing policy, they must self-isolate for 10 days if they are a close contact of someone who tests positive for COVID-19 – Omicron or not.

If there is a confirmed case of the Omicron variant in a netball setting, organisers must notify England Netball on covid@englandnetball.co.uk.
